He is considered one of the most eminent artists of postmodernism and represented a fundamental point of Italian and European Pop Art. Perfectly inserted in the international cultural scene of the sixties, he was considered a prolific artist, exuberant and in love with worldliness.

A passionate student of new pictorial techniques, he was among the first to use the computer to create works and was able to process computer images and bring them back onto emulsified canvases (“computerized canvases”).

His work was exhibited in the famous 1962 show New Realists at the Sidney Janis Gallery with other young Pop Art and New Realism including Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. He became a member of the group of artists composed of the Scuola romana alongside Franco Angeli and Tano Festa. Reputed to be a prolific and exuberant artist, he nonetheless has a habit of drugs which has lasted his life and has earned him the artist label maledetto (cursed).

Etudiant passionné des nouvelles techniques picturales, il a été parmi les premiers à utiliser l'ordinateur pour créer des œuvres et a pu traiter les images de l'ordinateur et les rapporter sur des toiles émulsionnées (les «toiles informatisées»).

Réputé être un artiste prolifique et exubérant, il a néanmoins l'habitude de la drogue qui a duré toute sa vie lui a valu le l’étiquette d'artiste «maledetto» (maudit).
