Cellist Dai Miyata is the first Japanese to win the Rostropovich International Competition and is one of Japan's leading cellists. His skills were once highly praised by the world-famous conductor Seiji Ozawa, and he has been active internationally. Now he has decided to release his first concerto album. With the world's rarest Stradivarius cello, he recorded "Elgar: Cello Concerto," a masterpiece by the British composer Elgar and a famous cello masterpiece, with an authentic British orchestra. The recording will be made in Glasgow with world-renowned conductor Thomas Dausgaard and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, with whom Elgar will perform at the "BBC Proms Japan" concerts in Tokyo and Osaka this fall.
