🛠️ Setup Guide (Quick Start)

1. Choose your variant — "M 100 PRO" (ESC only) or "M 100 PRO + Waterproof Connectors ×3" if you need sealed phase connections for underwater use.
2. Connect motor phase wires — plug the 3-phase wires (A-B-C) from your motor into the ESC. Direction can be reversed in VESC Tool if the motor spins the wrong way.
3. Connect battery — use an XT90 or AS150 anti-spark connector. Verify voltage is within 14–84V before powering on.
4. Connect input signal — plug your remote receiver into the PPM/UART port, or connect via CAN for multi-ESC setups.
5. Run Motor Detection in VESC Tool — connect via USB-C, open VESC Tool (free), run the motor setup wizard. Bluetooth connectivity is also supported.This auto-detects all motor parameters for optimal FOC performance.
6. Configure protections — set voltage limits, current limits, and temperature thresholds to match your battery and motor specs.
7. Test at low throttle — verify motor direction and throttle response before full-power runs. Check all connections are secure and dry.

Q1: Does it support official firmware??
The Manatee 100 Pro is based on the open-source VESC platform and Running custom firmware. It is compatible with VESC Tool for configuration and real-time monitoring. It uses the STM32F4 MCU and supports the full VESC feature set including FOC, CAN bus, and all sensor types.

Q2: What motors is it compatible with?
It supports brushless (BLDC), brushed DC, and IPM motors. Sensor support includes sensorless, HALL, ABI encoder, AS5047, and AS5048A. Motor temperature sensors (NTC 10K/100K, PTC 1K, KTY83/122) are also supported. In short: if it's a common electric motor type, this ESC can drive it.

Q3: Is the waterproofing sufficient for eFoil / underwater use?
The ESC body is sealed to 5 meters depth. The wire exit point is not fully sealed — for underwater installations, wrap the cable exit with self-amalgamating tape or use the optional 120A waterproof connectors (available in the bundle variant) to seal the phase connections. The ESC is designed for eFoil and water sports use.

Q4: Can I run two ESCs in a dual-motor setup?
Yes. The CAN bus interface allows multiple Manatee 100 Pro units to be daisy-chained for synchronized dual-motor control. This is commonly used in dual-drive electric skateboards and twin-thruster watercraft. Configure master/slave roles in VESC Tool.

Q5: Do I need the waterproof connector bundle, or can I use my own connectors?
The base "M 100 PRO" variant ships without phase connectors — you can solder your own (XT60, MR60, or bare wire). The "M 100 PRO + Waterproof Connectors ×3" bundle includes 3× Firduo 120A waterproof connectors, which are recommended for any wet or submerged installation to prevent corrosion and short circuits.
