Teamac Zinc Phosphate Primer is a high-performance, modified alkyd metal primer that provides exceptional anticorrosive protection on iron and steel.

Trusted across industrial, marine and agricultural settings, it’s ideal for machinery, fire escapes, railings, metal gates and garage doors. Its formulation makes it particularly effective in coastal and humid environments where corrosion resistance is critical.

Suitable for use with a wide range of topcoats including Teamac Metalcote and Teamac Marine Gloss, this primer offers excellent adhesion, smooth coverage and long-term durability.

Surface Preparation

Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from oil, rust and scale.

• Bare Steel: Abrasive blast to SA 2½ or mechanically clean where blasting isn’t possible.

• Previously Painted Steel: Remove loose paint and rust, clean thoroughly and abrade to create a key.

• Pay extra attention to edges, welds and corners to ensure full coating adhesion.

Directions for Use

1. Mix thoroughly before and during use.

2. Apply by brush, roller or spray.

3. If required, thin by up to 10 % with Teamac Thinners 14.

4. Apply at ~75 µm WFT (35–40 µm DFT).

5. Touch dry: 2 hrs @ 20 °C.

6. Recoat: After 12 hrs or overnight.

7. Avoid application in cold or humid conditions and maintain good ventilation during drying.
