Overview: The Veracity VLS-1P-B LONGSPAN Base is the base/transmitter for Veracity's LONGSPAN long-range Ethernet & PoE system. When paired with a LONGSPAN camera-side unit (for example VLS-1P-C) it delivers full 100Base-TX Ethernet and PoE/PoE+ over greatly extended runs of standard UTP (Cat6/Cat5e and 1/2/4-pair variants) — up to ≈820 m for full 100Base-TX on Cat6.

• Supports POE-in (802.3af/at) or optional external 54–57 V DC supply for greater power budget.
• Automatic operation — self-configuring (no user setup) and supports patch & crossover cabling.
• SAFEVIEW™ LEDs provide link/power/diagnostic status at either end for fast fault-finding.
• Ruggedised for harsh environments: -40°C to +70°C operation and industry approvals for transport and infrastructure use.

Use cases: Designed primarily for long-distance IP camera links, rail/metro and other remote or legacy-cable upgrade installations where extended reach and PoE power delivery are required without fibre.

Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician/installer in accordance with local regulations and the Veracity datasheet/quick-start guide.
