Additionally, the ambient light-powered Swiss super luminous hands & markers will glow continuously in all light conditions.

The Electroluminescent EL backlight feature will illuminate the dial, in no light conditions, with a touch of a button. The entire dial will illuminate with a soft blue light when the button is pushed, while still providing a high contrast viewing in normal light conditions. The ambient light-powered Swiss super luminous hands & markers will glow continuously in lower light conditions, with no need to use the battery-powered EL light. The Swiss super luminous system and timekeeping will continue to function if EL battery is depleted. (Note: Timing, and EL light have independent batteries.)
